Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Finishing in second during the regular season behind Terry Sawchuk and the Detroit Red Wings, the Montreal Canadiens would register 28 wins in 1952-53, with the season noteworthy for Rocket Richard scoring his 325th career goal and Elmer Lach netting his 200th. The Habs would slip past Chicago in seven before defeating the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals to give the famed bleu, blanc et rouge their seventh championship overall. Offered here, we present this Montreal Canadiens 1952-53 team photo that was available via a mail-in premium that was found on the backs of 1953-54 Parkhurst hockey cards. A full-colour offering that originally cost .25 cents, the image measures out to approximately 10" x 8" and has survived in pleasing condition with some light wear to the surface via indents and hairline creases as well as to the edges and corners, on the reverse some adhesive residue is observed at both the left and right edges. A seldom seen relic, don't let this one pass you and your all important vintage collection by!
