Known later for his jovial/smiling nature, veteran minor league goalie Johnny Bower had Rangers fans smiling at times during his first NHL season when, like the back of his 1954-55 rookie card informs, he posted the lowest GAA by a Ranger goalie in some 15 years, and had performances make him a contender for not only the Calder but also the Hart Trophy as league MVP. Card number 65 in the 100 card 1954-55 set, this copy of the netminder’s rookie card has been signed over the front by the 1976 HHOF inductee, with the autograph having been certified as "AUTHENTIC" by PSA. Penned in thin blue marker ink and displaying without issue and vivid still, the card itself is a low-grade example marred by toning and corner wear over the front while paper/loss and glue residue are seen on the reverse. Retaining good colours and fairly good centering, albeit off a bit from right-to-left and worthy of mention for accuracy, the PSA holder that the card is housed in remains in good condition with some minor imperfections over both sides that don't detract from the finished products overall appeal
