A four-time NHL All-Star who would play a total of 1238 games in the National Hockey League with teams such as the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks and New York Islanders, Doug Weight would hoist Lord Stanley's Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006 and be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013. Representing his native United States on numerous occasions and winning gold at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and silver at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, offered here is this Blues jersey worn by Weight during the 2001-02 season. Made by CCM, a size "56" label has been added inside the collar while a CCM logo patch has been added to the reverse neckline. Sporting the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is styled with a familiar Blues team crest that features embroidered details while the alternate captain's "A" has been placed over the left breast. Having had Weight's number "39" sewn to the sleeves and verso in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Weight" has been spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting good game-wear throughout its entirety, stick marks are observed over the front, reverse and both sleeves while the sleeves each showcase numerous board burns plus coloured board paint transfer marks and unrepaired cuts/holes. Showing additional wear through board burns over both shoulders, a Blues team stamp from customizer Custom Crafted that denotes the jersey as being a "2001-02 Season 1st Set" specimen is found inside the reverse hem. Having been photo-matched, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #1500567 (December 26th, 2001 vs Chicago) has been matched to various stick marks over the front and both sleeves in the shoulders/armpits areas.
