Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Posting a record of 59-10-11 throughout the 80 game 1977-78 National Hockey League regular season before knocking off Detroit, Toronto and Boston in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to claim the Stanley Cup, the latest championship would serve as the 21st Cup in franchise history with it also being the third of Yvon Lambert's career. Offered here, we present this Yvon Lambert game-issued Koho Custom Pro 221 that has been signed by over twenty (20) players and staff of Montreal's 1977-78 Stanley Cup championship team. A Koho made Custom Pro 221 model with "Lambert" stamped to the upper shaft, the stick has never been taped over the handle/knob or blade and sports striping accent stickers over both the upper and lower shaft with an additional third-party blue sticker wrapped around the lower shaft in one (1) area as well. Showcasing heavy wear and cracking to the bottom of the blade/heel and another on the backhand side of the upper shaft, the graphics over the backhand have been sanded down to facilitate the twenty-two (22) signatures of players and staff that have been penned on it. Signed by the likes of HOFers; Dryden, Lafleur, Gainey, Shutt, Bowman (coach), and Robinson, the stick has also been signed by Mondou, Nyrop, Chartraw, Bouchard, Houle, Lambert, Reisborough, Jarvis, Tremblay, Lupien, Palchak (trainer), Larouche and others, with all the signatures appearing strong despite some fading from age. Additionally, also included with the stick are copies of hardcover coffee table books titled "Jeux Cocasses Au Vieux Forum" by Denis Brodeur and "Les Illustres Canadiens" by the Hockey Hall of Fame with the first signed on the inside by HOFers such as Beliveau, Lafleur, Savard, Duff, H. Richard, Shutt and Cournoyer, plus Fillion, Lemieux, Lambert, McDonald, Houle, Dionne and others while the other is signed on the inside by Jean Beliveau. All signed in blue marker ink, all the signatures display without issue.
