Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
The final card in Imperial Tobacco's ever-popular C55 card set features the man who started it all for Montreal Canadiens' historians, Jack Laviolette. Given the task by John Ambrose O'Brien to assemble the very first Montreal Canadiens squad in 1909, Laviolette served as captain of the Habs, playing defence for five seasons, then moved up to form the era's top line with Newsy Lalonde and Didier Pitre, helping les Canadiens of 1915-16 to their first Stanley Cup. Graded VG-EX 4 by SGC, this stunner is ready for a new collection.
