Highly collected since their inception over half a century ago, bobble head dolls continue to fascinate collectors for both their charming nature and nostalgic appearance. Extremely fragile and easily susceptible to damage, we offer a complete set of 1962 Original Six "regular size - square base" nodders/bobble heads. Featuring decal team names and crests, each bobble head is right around 6 ¼”, give or take, and all except for the Chicago example are stamped “Japan” and “1962” on a sticker in the middle of the underside of the base. Additionally, the Montreal example also sees the notations stamped directly to the underside of the base as well. All displaying the team name on the frontside of the base, the breakdown for each doll regarding its condition is as follows;
1) For the Chicago doll, void of any stamping on the underside of its base as previously mentioned, light wear is seen to the face and head while no cracks are present. For the body, some paint loss is observed, heaviest at the right neck area, along with a few small chips and marks including a hand drawn number "9" on the reverse and tomahawks on the shoulders in heavily faded black ink. For the base, light wear is seen via small chips/small spots of paint loss plus a small number of marks. 2) For the Boston doll, the key cog of the set, there is a light wear mark over the right cheek while a few very minor small chips are seen around the edge of the neck. Once again the head is free of any cracks. For the body a bit of wear is seen in the Bruins logo decal around 10 o'clock and a couple of small white spots are observed on the reverse while the base is in excellent condition with a few small marks and small cuts/dings to the edge along the left skate and back left corner. 3) For the Toronto doll, the head remains free of cracks and is in excellent condition. The body shows a bit of light wear along with a few marks throughout while the base shows light wear to the "N" of the "Toronto" decal that is over the front face. 4) On the Detroit doll, a dark hair variation, there is light wear to the head, which is free from any cracks while the body and base sport similar light wear and remain in excellent shape. 5) For the New York doll there is light wear to the head along with a very small chip near the top of it with similar wear and aging to the body, including a couple of small white spots on the back. The base is in excellent condition as well with a very small chip at the one top corner at the front. 6) Lastly, for the Montreal doll, there are some small light liquid stains to the head as well as a couple of very small light chips. For the body, only light wear is observed via a couple marks and a small paint scuff on the revere while the base is excellent despite a small chip to the bottom right corner on the front.
