Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Still on top of the NHL after the close of the Original Six era, the Montreal Canadiens would win four Stanley Cup championships between 1968 and 1973, largely due to the youthful talent that included Ken Dryden, Guy Lafleur and Serge Savard. We offer two groups of Canadiens postcards by Pro Star, including 29 from 1971-72 and 14 from 1972-73 (there is some duplication). All blank-backed, with facsimile signatures to the base, the 1971-72 group includes Cournoyer (2), Lafleur (2, rookie), F Mahovlich (3), Savard, Lapointe, Dryden (2, rookie) and others, while the 1972-73 group boasts Shutt (rookie), Houle, Laperriere, Lapointe, Savard and others. The bulk of the collection show just very light handling wear, with a few having the odd bend or corner ding.
