Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Remembered more for his managerial days then when he served as an enforcer for the mighty Montreal Canadiens during the 1960s, John Ferguson helped lead Team Canada to victory from the bench in 1972. We offer a stick used by the Vancouver native during the late-1960s, circa 1968-69. A CCM Custom Pro model with "Ferguson" and "22" stamped to the upper shaft, there is also a stamp from team supplier McNiece's over the top side of the shaft. The original white tape remains to the handle, with the blade tape removed (outline visible). The stick exhibits nice game-use, with puck marks to the blade, wear to the underside, and additional marks and wear to the shaft. There are also a couple small hairline age cracks visible at the toe of the blade (the stick remains completely solid).
