Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is autographed jersey card of "Mr. Hockey" that hails from In The Game's 1998-99 Be A Player release. Featuring imagery of Howe during the latter portion of his time in the NHL as a member of the Detroit Red Wings over the front, the "All-Star Legend" offering features a swatch of material cut from one of Howe's game-worn Red Wings jerseys embedded into the front while Howe has also signed over top of his image on the front with a crisp black marker ink signature that displays without issue. Remaining in overall excellent condition with some very light edge and corner wear observed throughout that is worth mentioning for accuracy along with a lone tiny surface scuff near the left edge on the reverse, don't miss out on this rare and seldom seen example of one of the greatest to ever grace the ice.
