Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Offered here, we present this trio of cards that have been signed by 1972 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, Gordie Howe. All acetate offerings from Upper Deck Ice and Trilogy releases that date from 2003-04 and 2005-06 and picturing Howe during his NHL days with the Detroit Red Wings, pacing the group is a 2003-04 Upper Deck Ice "Under Glass" autograph card which is then followed up by a 2005-06 Upper Deck Ice "Glacial Graphs" example and a 2005-06 Upper Deck Trilogy "Ice Scripts" offering. All having been signed by Howe with fine blue marker ink signatures that display beautifully, all of the autographs are also accented with Howe's famed "Mr. Hockey" annotation in matching ink and condition. All remaining in excellent condition, light wear is observed to the surfaces via light scratches and small scuffs that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
