Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is this trio of cards autographed by Howe that hail from the 2003-04 Upper Deck Series One release. All displaying with imagery of Howe during his days in the National Hockey League as a member of the Detroit Red Wings or the Hartford Whalers, the cards are all buyback offerings of previous Upper Deck products Including examples of Upper Deck "Legends" insert cards from 2000-01 (x2) and 2001-02, each card has been signed over the front by Howe with a crisp blue marker ink signature that displays without issue. Having added his famed "Mr. Hockey" annotation to his instantly recognizable signature in matching ink, the 2000-01 cards are hand serial-numbered "1/7" (Hartford) and "2/5" (Detroit) respectively while the 2001-02 example sports a "1/2" penned serial-number with all the notations done in matching blue marker ink like the signatures. All having had Upper Deck holograms affixed to their reverses and accompanied by Upper Deck COA's that have had matching holograms affixed, the cards all remain in good condition and display with some corner and edge wear that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
