Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Offered here, we present this grouping of autograph cards from Upper Deck's 2004-05 Legends Classic release that feature Howe as well as numerous other Hall of Famers. Including a lone dual autograph example that has been autographed by both Howe as well as another famous number "9" in Bobby Hull, both legends have signed alongside their images with crisp blue marker ink signatures that display without issue while Howe has added his famed "Mr. Hockey" moniker above his instantly recognizable signature. Serial numbered "26/75" in silver foil at the centre of the card, the trio of signed offerings is rounded out by a pair of triple signed cards, one of which features Howe alongside former Red Wings teammates and fellow HOFers Red Kelly and Ted Lindsay while the other shows him with Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion and Jean Beliveau of the Montreal Canadiens. All having signed the card with blue ink signatures that display without issue, the cards are serial numbered "14/25" and "09/25" respectively along the left side edge. With both cards once again seeing Howe having added his "Mr. Hockey" inscription, the trio of desirable cards are all in their original raw ungraded forms but remain in excellent condition, sporting light wear to the edges and corners that is worth mentioning for accuracy. Some seldom seen cardboard, don't miss out on these for your all-important collection.
