Suiting up in the famed bleu, blanc et rouge of the Montreal Canadiens between 1971 and 1974 alongside his brother, Pete, Frank Mahovlich would help the Habs to Stanley Cup victories in 1971 and 1973. The witness of countless epic hockey showdowns as well as other entertaining and sporting spectacles, offered here, and hailing from his personal collection, is this blue coloured seat from the famed Montreal Forum that is signed by "The Big M". The witness of countless epic hockey showdowns as well as other entertaining and sporting spectacles, the Forum is widely considered the most important hockey venue in history, with some of the game’s greatest moments celebrated within its hallowed Saint-Catherine Street walls. At approx 34” in height, the elder Mahovlich's number "27" remains stenciled in aged white on the seat back while a Canadiens logo decal has been placed in the upper right hand corner. Signed by Frank with a large and bold black marker ink signature that displays without issue, Mahovlich has added annotations reading "H.O.F. 81" and "Stanley Cup 71-73" in matching black marker ink with both in a condition that matches the autograph. Including a pair of 24" aluminum-alloy runners that can be affixed on each side to serve as a base, the legs of the fabled chair each side sport embossed red Habs' logos with “1924-96". The blue leather seat cushion remains intact and in good condition with no rips or tears to mention though a good cleaning could do wonders, on the underside of the seat, made of metal, paint chipping and some minor dents are present while the wooden seat back shows just light wear via a small number of small paint chips on the front and heavier wear on the reverse through paint chips, scuffs and dirt. Additionally, a spot of dried white paint is seen on the chair's right leg. A Mahovlich family LOA will accompany the piece. Of note, due to the size and weight of the item, special shipping arrangements may be required.
