A pair of classic 1980s offerings is up for grabs here via this lot consisting of near-complete and complete assemblies of O-Pee-Chee's 1985-86 and 1986-87 releases. Starting with the near-complete 1985-86 set, featuring 260 of the 264 cards that make up the full checklist, the group is an overall inconsistent collection of cardboard with most of those that are included averaging out to around VG-EX for their efforts while cards 25, 75, 200 and 243 are missing. Including the releases key rookie card of Mario Lemieux that is found to be in a VG to VG-EX condition with corner wear and a top left corner ding observed, the rookie card of Al MacInnis is also present, found in an EX-MT to NM state. With the key cards paced by EX to EX-MT offerings of 29-Yzerman (small ding - top right corner) and 120-Gretzky (light corner wear and bottom right ding), card #177 of Mark Messier is found in the vicinity of VG-EX to EX (corner wear) while card #262, the rookie leaders cardboard of Lemieux is seen as PR to FR due to extensive wear and corner issues.
For the 1986-87 set, complete with all 264-cards present and accounted for, the assembly is seen as being in the uniform condition range of EX-MT to NM with the key rookie cards of Patrick Roy, John Vanbiesbrouck and Wendel Clark all in EX-MT to NM state while the key stars include 3-Gretzky (EX - dent on front, bottom right ding), 11-Yzerman (G to VG - left border damage) and 149-Lemieux (EX-MT to NM). For the checklist cards, the pair from the 1985-86 release are both unmarked but card #165 is creased while in the 1986-87 set, both are unmarked and in a condition that is consistent with the rest of the group.
