Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Altering the line-up for the second match after the devastating loss in Game 1, a number of Team Canada players were scratched for Game 2 of the 1972 Canada-Russia Series played on Sept 4th at Maple Leaf Gardens, including Ken Dryden, Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. Providing a much stronger effort than in Game 1, the mighty maple leaf was victorious, with the Canadians taking the second match, 4-1. We offer an original 1972 Canada-Russia Series ticket stub produced for Game 2 in Toronto signed by Pete Mahovlich. At 1 ¾” x 4 ½”, the ticket lists the game, date, venue and seat, along with the $7.00 cover price, with advertising on the reverse from CCM. Mahovlich - netting the 3rd Team Canada goal in the match - has signed in blue fibre-tip marker, with the signature flawless. The ticket itself sports a few creases, but displays nicely overall. A COA will accompany for the signature.
