In a baseball calendar year that saw the New York Yankees redeem themselves and beat the Milwaukee Braves in the Fall Classic for their 18th title and 7th in ten years, the 1958 Topps baseball set features a checklist of 494 cards chalked full of star power as well as the rookie card of Roger Maris. Up for grabs here, is this dozen card grouping from Topps' 1958 baseball release. Led by a group of PSA graded star cards that includes the likes of #310 Ernie Banks (PSA NM 7), #482 Ernie Banks AS (PSA NM-MT 8), #370 Yogi Berra (PSA NM-MT 8 - "OC" Qualifier), #375 Pee Wee Reese (PSA NM 7), #285 Frank Robinson (PSA EX-MT 6) and #480 Eddie Mathews AS (PSA EX 5), all of the holders that cards are encased in are in excellent condition and display with only light scratches and scuffs that don't take away from the visual appeal. For the remaining six (6) cards, found to be in the high-grade scope of EX to EX-MT, EX-MT and EX-MT to NM for their efforts, those in the EX-MT to NM category include the cards of 304-"Tigers Big Bats" (Harvey Kuenn / Al Kaline) and 440-Mathews (75-25 centering) while EX-MT examples include 280-Piersall (small amount of fuzz at top left corner) and 393-Kubek (small amount of fuzz at top left corner). Rounding out the lot are EX to EX-MT offerings of 448-Lau (bottom border mark/dent) and 450-Ward (light surface "snow").
