Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024

Theoren Fleury was a point-per-game player, as his 1,088 points in 1,084 NHL games will attest. The Saskatchewan native scored 455 goals, won the Stanley Cup with Calgary in 1989 and scored a career-high 51 goals with the Flames in 1990-91. Hailing from the late-1990s is this stick used by Fleury, with this specific model seeing use in 1997-98 and 1998-99. A Nike 180 model with an inserted Nike blade, the stick is void of any “Fleury” factory graphics or stamping. Theo’s original white tape job is present with "14" handwritten over the handle/knob while the blade is covered in black tape, with Fleury signing in silver paint pen. There is also a tag attached by string that sports "1998-99". The stick shows nice game-use with marks, abrasions and surface chips to the shaft, with light wear to the blade (it is possible that the blade was changed at some point, with the shaft showing more wear).
