Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
A product of the Portland Winter Hawks in the Western Hockey League, Nick Cicek would join the San Jose Barracuda on a one-year AHL deal for the 2021-22 season and be rewarded with a two-year entry level NHL deal the year later with the Sharks. Holding both Canadian and Turkish citizenship, offered here is this San Jose Sharks jersey worn by Cicek on February 20th, 2023 against the Seattle Kraken. Made by Adidas, a band displaying both size "58" and "Made in Canada" designations is affixed to the inner collar above a screened on "Prime Green" designation while the front and reverse necklines are accented with the logo crests of the NHL and Adidas respectively. Decorated over the front with a Sharks team crest that featured embroidered details throughout, matching alternate logo patches are in place over both shoulder and an embossed geometric pattern is seen in the sleeve and hem stripes. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Cicek's number "59" in dual layer white-over-black tackle twill numerals, "Cicek" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate on the reverse. Having had a Sharks team tag affixed to the inner collar that denotes the jersey as being from the 2022-23 season, the jersey exhibits good game-wear in the form of board burns and stick marks over both sleeves, frayed and loose threads throughout the body and sleeves and an unrepaired cut on the backside of the right forearm. With the original Sharks team store price tag attached to the right cuff, the jersey is accompanied by a Sharks COA listing the particulars of the piece.
