A strong rookie card roster and a nifty design has long made Topps’ 1965-66 puck effort popular among collectors. Sporting a checklist that included 128-cards for youngsters to chase in packs and the fact that it was the only hockey card set offering of the season for the second straight year, offered here is this partial set that includes 81 of the 128 cards that make up the checklist. 21-Giacomin RC, 51-Henderson RC, 59-Hull, 66-checklist, 81-Mahovlich, 108-Howe, 116-Phil Esposito RC, 121-checklist, 122-Howe, 123-Maple Leafs and 126-Montreal Canadiens for completion, the group is seen as being in the overall average condition of VG throughout with a few better and a few worse. For the key cards, led condition wise by VG to VG-EX examples of 31-Cheevers RC (light corner wear) and 79-Horton (light corner wear), a VG range example of Dave Keon's card #17 that shows wear to the top left corner is also included. Also featuring G to VG neighbourhood cards of 60-Mikita (dent on surface) and 76-Cournoyer RC (corner wear and tiny right border crease), the rest of the keys include names such as 6-Beliveau (GOOD - crease), 124-Black Hawks (FR to G - crease and corner wear), 125-Red Wings (FR to G - crease and corner wear), 127-Rangers (PR - multiple large creases) and 128-Bruins (FR to G - creased). Of note, it is also worth mentioning that the included cards of 12-Sawchuk and 62-Hay are both in POOR range condition.
