One of the most memorable tournaments in international hockey history, the 1987 Canada Cup saw Canada, led by superstars Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, defeat an equally powerful Soviet squad, one of the best they ever assembled, two games to one in the tightly contested best of three final with the legendary pairing hooking up to score the winning goal in game two (2) at 10:07 of the second overtime to tie the best of three finals series. Considered by some to be the greatest game in Canadian hockey history, offered here is this photo capturing the celebration of the legendary goal that has been signed by both hockey legends. A 16" x 20" full colour image, both players have signed alongside their likenesses with blue marker ink signatures that display with some fading from age but overall still present strongly despite this. Displayed under both blue and red coloured mattes and housed in a brown wooden frame that displays with some wear to the edges and corners, full dimensions measure out to roughly 26" x 22 1/2". A JSA Auction LOA will accompany the piece.
