Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Named to Team USA for the first Winter Olympic Games that featured National Hockey League representation, Brett Hull would record three (3) points in four (4) games played in Nagano. Offered here, we present this stick used by "The Golden Brett" during the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan that was originally acquired by our consignor from a Team USA staff member that was on the bench with the team. An Easton Z-Bubble model with inserted Christian wooden blade, the original white tape remains over the handle and knob while black covers the blade. Void of any Hull identifiers, an additional ring of white tape that has had "C 12826" penned to it in black ballpoint ink is wrapped around the shaft just below the end of the handle tape. With the blade having been filed down near the toe to Brett's liking, the stick shows light game-wear via a few marks and abrasions over the shaft, blade stem and heel while the blade tape, which is worn along the bottom, has a few light marks over both sides.
