This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
A veteran of 1291 games played in the National Hockey League, Darryl Sydor, selected 7th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 1990, would play his junior hockey as a member of the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League and help the club to a Memorial Cup championship in 1992 and Western Hockey League championships in 1990 and 1992 respectively. A two-time Stanley Cup champion who also represented Canada at the international level on numerous occasions, offered here is this Team Canada jersey signed by Sydor and worn by him at the 1992 IIHF World Junior Championships in Germany. An all-mesh construction garment made by Tackla, a label from the brand displaying a size "XL" designation is affixed to the inner collar while Team Canada logos and graphics are sublimated directly into the material and appear over the front and sleeves. Displaying a Tackla logo over the right breast and the alternate captain's "A", worn by Sydor during the tournament, sewn over the left breast, the sleeves and verso feature Sydor's number "5" while "Sydor" is spelt out in sublimated red letters over the affixed matching mesh nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting game-wear through stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, additional battle scars are observed via a couple of light board burns over both sleeves as well. Additionally, Sydor has signed alongside the nameplate on the reverse with a black ink signature that displays without issue. Of note, light spot stains are found throughout the piece.
