A veteran of twelve (12) National Hockey League seasons who played a total of 669 games in the league for the likes of the Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, Sylvain Turgeon would finish third in Calder Trophy voting for the 1983-84 season after posting a total of 72 points in 76 games played. A product of the QMJHL's Hull Olympiques who was drafted 2nd overall in 1983, offered here is this jersey worn by Turgeon during his lone season in New Jersey as a member of the Devils in 1989-90. Made by CCM, a washed out Maska Ultra-Fil tag displaying a faded handwritten size "52" designation in blue ballpoint pen is affixed to the inner collar while the CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem alongside a subtle "Custom Crafted" logo on the opposite side. Decorated over the front with a Devils team crest in layered tackle twill, the bright red garment is accented over the sleeves and verso with Tugeon's number "16" in dual layer white-over-green tackle twill numerals while "Turgeon" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting excellent game-wear throughout via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, board burns and team repairs are found over both sleeves as well with an unrepaired hole through the first layer of material also being observed at the right elbow. With some small unrepaired cuts/holes also present on each sleeve as well, good pilling is seen on the interior of the jersey which is heaviest at both elbows. Additionally an Ice Violence inventory tag is attached to the fight strap.
