The NHL’s first overall draft choice in 1988, Mike Modano spent over two decades with the Minnesota/Dallas organization, and currently holds the club records for games played, points, goals and assists. Quite possibly the greatest American born NHL player of all-time and helping the Stars to a Stanley Cup championship in 1999, offered here is this Dallas jersey worn by Modano between the years of 1994 and 1996. Made by CCM, brand and size "56" labels are affixed to the inner collar that show evidence of numerous washings while the NHL shield, CCM and North Stars logos have also all been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Stars team crest that features both embroidered and textured details throughout its entirety, a velcro swatch has been sewn on over the left breast to which a distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added overtop for when Modano had to serve in the roll when one of the regulars was out of the line up. Accented over the shoulders with the team's State of Texas alternate logo patches, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Modano's familiar number "9" in either dual layer or stacked tri-layer numerals while "Modano" is spelt out in dual layer green-over-black tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Still sporting the original fight strap on the interior along with a "Sports Registry" barcode label inside the area of the "9" on the reverse, the garment shows good game-wear including stick marks, board burns and small unrepaired cuts over both sleeves as well as good pilling at the end of both cuffs. Additionally, other battle scars are observed via a red coloured board paint transfer mark in the alternate logo patch on the right shoulder, a couple of small pills and pulls over the front, a couple of small marks over the reverse, sweat and spot staining over the front plus both sleeves, a small unrepaired cut near the right shoulder on the front and some light fraying/loose threads on the interior. A MeiGray LOA and COR will accompany the piece.
