Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Appearing for four different NHL clubs during his lengthy career, Craig Rivet is best remembered as a Montreal Canadien, with parts of a dozen seasons spent in a Habs uniform. This Canadiens alternate captain's jersey was worn by the North Bay native on Serge Savard's retirement night, November 18, 2006. A label with "56" sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests to the reverse hem and neckline respectively. Styled with the classic Habs team crest with “52” sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, the Savard “18” retirement patch is sewn to the right breast. Seeing just over 23:00 minutes of ice time in the match, the jersey shows just light expected wear, with a small slit just above the reverse band. A MeiGray patch numbered "D00509" is affixed to the inside hem, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Red - Serge Savard Night w/#18 Patch - Worn 11/18/06 for Serge Savard Night" specimen. An LOA from the Canadiens will accompany.
