Registering a record of 41-23-9 with nine (9) shutouts, a .914 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average, Martin Brodeur would lead the New Jersey Devils to a Stanley Cup championship during the 2002-03 season, the third of his career, while also claiming the first Vezina Trophy of his career. Finishing third in Hart Memorial Trophy voting at the year's conclusion, offered here is this stick used by Brodeur during the 2003 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning during the second round that has been photo-matched to Brodeur's Game 1 win in which he posted a 3-0 shutout win. A CCM Heaton 10 model twig in New Jersey's black, red and white colourway, "M. Brodeur" is stamped to the upper shaft. Retaining its original tape job white over the knob and black wrapped around the blade, a notation reading "TB 1" has been penned to the tape on the knob in black marker ink. Exhibiting just light-to-moderate game-use throughout, puck marks are seen over the paddle on the forehand side as well as on both sides of the blade tape, while other marks and abrasions are present throughout the paddle and shaft as well. Of note, residue from tape holding multiple sticks together is observed over both the shaft and paddle and is worth pointing out for accuracy. Also showing a small number of ed post paint transfer marks over the backside of the upper shaft, the stick also exhibits a bit go wear to the painted graphics on the backhand side of the stick as well, once again over the upper shaft and paddle. Regarding the photo-match, the stick is matched with an image of Brodeur taken during the three star selections after the game that shows the penned notation over the knob as well as various marks and imperfections to the painted graphics on the backhand side of the shaft and paddle including the bit of white showing in the curved red area after the "M" in "CCM" on the shaft, the white mark in the black oval around "Graphite Reinforced" and the misprint in the registered trademark "R" on the paddle. Additionally, a Steiner hologram numbered "234096" has been affixed over the heel.
