Hailing from a season that saw the Montreal Canadiens regain their position atop the hockey world with their 19th Stanley Cup victory in the history of the franchise, knocking off the two-time defending champion Philadelphia Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals, O-Pee-Chee's 1975-76 hockey card release featured a checklist that consisted of 396-cards. we present this lot 165 cards from the 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee hockey release that have been signed by the player pictured on the front. Paced by autographed examples of 7-Clarke SCQF (FR to G - crease), 9-Bucyk (VG-EX to EX - light corner wear), 23-McDonald (VG-EX to EX - small surface bubble bump), 30-Mikita (G to VG - corner wear), 100-Orr (VG - bottom left border and bottom corner wear), 160-Vachon (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear and light mark at top border), 172-Quinn (VG to VG-EX - bottom right corner ding), 176-Magnuson (G to VG - corner wear), 200-P. Esposito (G to VG - very small crease top border), 288-Orr AS (EX to EX-MT), 290-Lafleur AS (VG to VG-EX - corner wear) and 396-Snepsts (VG to VG-EX - corner wear), all of the cards just listed are signed in either ballpoint pen or marker ink, with the autographs legible and largely displaying well despite a couple that show varying degrees of fading from age. Additionally, the prime dozen examples listed above are accompanied by a JSA Auction LOA.
Also included with the lot, is a group of thirty-five (35) cards consisting of mostly stars and HOFers that includes the likes of Vachon (x3 - one being his AS card), Potvin (x2 - regular series and AS card), P. Esposito, Park, Ratelle (x2), Barber, Lapointe, Sittler, Savard (x2 - one on the 74-75 SCQF card), Dionne (x2), Mikita (x2 - one on the Chicago team leaders card), Bucyk (x2), Lemaire (x2), Snepsts, Gilbert, Sather (x3), Quinn (x2), Patrick (x4) and Crozier (x2).
