This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Always a hobby favourite and featuring a groovy array of colours as well as a strong group of National Hockey League star power, up on the block this time is a near complete assembly of O-Pee-Chee’s fabled 1971-72 release. Ringing in with 259 of the set’s 264 cards present and accounted for, the group is missing only the key rookie cards of 133-Dionne and 148-Lafleur as well as 100-Orr, 161-Martin RC and 245-Orr AW for completion. For the included key cards, the first-year cardboard of Ken Dryden is seen as being in the grade scope of FR to G while VG-EX to EX range offerings include 20-P. Esposito, 60-Perreault, 110-T. Esposito, 175-Leach RC, 195-Plante, 220-Giacomin and 261-Hull AS. Also including VG to VG-EX vicinity cards (each with a small crease) of 50-Hull, 131-Parent, 193-Sittler, 207-MacLeish RC, 262-Howe "Mr. Hockey" and 263-Beliveau "Le Gros Bill" and G to VG neighbourhood cards (all with large creases) of 40-Park, 105-Mahovlich, 111-1st Series Checklist, 241-Worsley and 264-2nd Series Checklist, it is worth mentioning that both checklist cards are marked. For the rest of the set, there are approximately fifty (50) cards with creases including fifteen (15) that display with large ones. Additionally, there are about a dozen (12) cards with stains and about twenty (20) or so cards which have above average stains/surface wear/scuffing. Finally, majority of the cards found here making up the near-complete assembly have wear to their edges or surface and/or small hit marks to their corners. Overall, a good chance to add a fan favourite release to your collection at a reasonable price point.
