Drafted 6th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 1980, Paul Coffey would register a total of 96 points in 1982-83 as a 21-year-old to pace the NHL in scoring by a defenceman. Helping the Oilers to a total of three (3) Stanley Cup's during their dynasty years of the 1980's with an additional Cup won with Pittsburgh in 1991, offered here, we present this stick used by Coffey during his third NHL season on 1982-83. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model with "Coffey 7" stamped over the shaft, the stick retains Paul's original tape job of black over the shaved handle/knob and white over the blade. Displaying a date stamp in red on the underside of the shaft that reads "28 FEV 1983" and a partially intact foil accent sticker around the lower shaft, the stick exhibits game-wear via numerous marks/abrasions over the shaft, lower shaft, heel and blade while the blade tape itself shows puck marks over both sides, some tears to the forehand side and some wear to the underside. Additionally, the stick has been signed by Coffey over the forehand side of the shaft with a blue ballpoint pen ink signature that reads "To Rick, Best Wishes" with the notation and autograph displaying well and with some light fading. Having had a MeiGray hologram affixed to the underside of the stick underneath the handle tape, a matching LOA will accompany.
