Featuring a checklist that was smaller than its Canadian release counterpart by O-Pee-Chee, the 1984-85 Topps hockey set featured a total of 165-cards making up a complete assembly, the smallest hockey set by the company since 1972. Featuring a design that was a recycled and retooled edition of the one used by the company in 1983 for their baseball set and led by the key rookie cards of Steve Yzerman, Dave Andreychuk, Tom Barrasso, Pat LaFontaine, Dave Poulin and Pat Verbeek, offered here is this collection of nine (9) sets of Topps' 1984-85 hockey release. All housed in nine-pocket pages that have been placed in binders, all the sets appear to be complete after inspection except for one that is missing its copy of card #51 that pictures Wayne Gretzky over the front. For Yzerman rookie cards (9), two of the included examples have a small ''bubble'' imperfection in the top area of their fronts buts are otherwise viewed as quite nice and found to be in mid-to-high grade condition for their efforts. For the Lafontaine rookie cards (9), one has a long hit mark along the left side edge while two (2) others display with a small hit mark to their top edges with one of those showing wear to its corners. Seen as being in an otherwise visually appealing state and in mid-to-high grade condition, the rest of the better cards including 51-Gretzky, 13-Andreychuk RC, 14-Barrasso RC and 90-Verbeek RC, all look quite nice and are mid-to-high grade as well. WIth all the other cards not mentioned seeming to reflect the condition of the ones that are, also included with the sets are ten (10) unopened 1984-85 Topps packs that are all in a nice condition and remain sealed. Of note, one of the packs does have a small tear at one end but is still fully sealed otherwise.
