Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Extremely influential to the game throughout his career, Ben Hogan is said to be one of the first golfers to match particular clubs to yardages, as well as pinpoint reference markers on a course. He is also one of only five golfers to have won all four major championships currently open to professionals. We offer a photo and document both signed by the four-time U.S. Open winner, along with an original wire photo circa 1960. First, the signed photo is a modern 8" x 10" black and white print of a vintage image, signed by Hogan in black fiber-tip marker, with the signature flawless. The document is an Assignment of Oil and Gas Lease dated August of 1980, signed by Hogan as a representative of W.B.H Oil in black ink, with no issues for the signature. The additional photo is 7" x 9", and it shows Hogan putting with Tommy Bolt watching, with this occurring a few days before the 42nd PGA Championship at the Firestone Country Club in Ohio. There is a caption glued to the right side, with stamps and notations on the reverse. A JSA Auction LOA will accompany for the signed photo, with a PSA/DNA LOA included for the signed document.
