Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Always a hobby favourite and featuring a groovy array of colours as well as a strong group of National Hockey League star power, up on the block this time is a near complete assembly of O-Pee-Chee’s fabled 1971-72 release. Ringing in with 257 of the set’s 264 cards present and accounted for, the group is missing only cards 2-Bouchard RC, 111-Checklist, 148-Lafleur RC, 245-Orr Trophies, 256-Plante AS and 264-Checklist for completion. Found to be a grouping of mixed lower grade cards seen as being in the ranges of FR to G, GOOD, G to VG and VG to VG-EX, the included key cards are led by the first-year cardboard of Ken Dryden which is seen as being in the grade scope of VG-EX to EX with light corner wear for its effort while 114-Clarke (corner wear), 133-Dionne RC (bad bottom right corner) and 251-Orr AS (small left border stain) are all in the scope of VG to VG-EX. With card #262 of Gordie Howe around VG condition with corner wear, the rest of the key cards include 20-P. Esposito (FR to G - creased), 50-Hull (FR to G - stain on front), 60-Perreault (GOOD - stain stain at top left), 100-Orr (PR - stain and paper loss on reverse), 195-Plante (FR to G - crease plus corner wear), 261-Hull AS (FR to G - creased) and 263-Beliveau (FR to G - creased). Still an excellent and likely reasonably priced chance to add some vintage cardboard to your collection, don't miss out!
