Always an enticing set for collectors to add to their inventory, the 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee release consisted of bright colours and a 264-card checklist, with this near complete assembly of the release up for grabs here. Including 257 of the 264 cards that make up the set, missing only those of 50-Cournoyer, 55-Beliveau, 178, 236-Orr AS, 252, 255 and 256, the near-complete assembly is found to be in the overall consistent condition range of VG-EX to EX for its effort. For the key cards, the rookie specimens of 67-Park (EX to EX-MT - 90-10 centering), 131-Pearreault (FR to G - creased), 195-Clarke (VG-EX to EX - top left corner ding) and 218-Sittler (EX - off-center and light corner wear) are all present and accounted for while the rest of the non first years are paced by VG-EX to EX cards of 3-Orr (light corner wear), 29-Howe (small dings to three of the four corners), 235-Hull AS (corner wear) and 246-Orr Hart Trophy (light corner wear), card #153 of Tony Esposito is seen as being around VG to VG-EX with corner wear while the likes of 132-Checklist (marked), 231-Sawchuk (light crease and light wax), 238-Howe AS (tiny surface crease and corner wear), 248-Orr Norris (off-center, faded and corner wear), and 249-Orr Art Ross (top left corner stain and ding) are in the scope of G to VG shape. Rounded out by GOOD condition neighbourhood cards of 15-Hull (ink on back) and 24-Checklist (marked), the group presents a wonderful trip down memory lane for our lucky winning bidder!
