Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Enshrined into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981, Frank Mahovlich would play a total of 18-years in the National Hockey League as well as 4-years in the World Hockey Association to the tune of over 1400 regular season games. A 6-time Stanley Cup champion and Calder Memorial Trophy winner in 1958, offered here is this collection of six (6) cards featuring "The Big M" from various Parkhurst, O-Pee-Chee and Topps releases that date between 1962-63 and 1975-76. All having been graded by PSA and housed in holders that remain in excellent condition despite light signs of wear via small scratches and scuffs, the group sees its oldest offering be that in the form of Frank's 1962-63 Parkhurst card that has been assessed a mark of VG-EX 4 which is then followed up by his 1963-64 Parkhurst card that sports a grade of EX-MT 6 for its effort. Including a pair of cards from 1970-71, Mahovlich, then a member of the Detroit Red Wings, is seen over the front of his Topps release which has been graded to the tune of a NM 7 designation while his O-Pee-Chee All-Star card shows the same grade as well. Rounded out by a copy of Frank's 1971-72 Topps card that has been deemed worthy of a NM-MT 8 label, his WHA tenure is featured in the collection's final card, a 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee WHA example that also sports a NM-MT 8 mark.
