Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/29/2023
Regarded as one of the original "Flying Frenchmen", Newsy Lalonde is regarded as one of hockey's and lacrosse's greatest players of the first half of the 20th century and one of Canadian sport's most colourful characters. A Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens 1916 and the National Hockey League's scoring champion in both 1918–19 and 1920–21, the 1950 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee is pictured in dapper attire over the front of his 1925 Dominion Chocolate "Athletic Stars" card, then playing as a member of the Saskatoon Sheiks of the Western Canada Hockey League. Having been recently received back from grading by PSA where the card has been deemed worthy of a VG 3 designation, the toned cardboard offering sports rounded corners/wear and some wear to the edges while the surfaces on both sides remain clean. Retaining its bottom redemption tab and housed in a flawless PSA holder, don't miss out on this prime pre-war offering picturing one of hockey's forefathers.
