The most decorated team in the history of the National Hockey League, the Montreal Canadiens have won a total of twenty-four (24) Stanley Cup championships in their over one hundred years of history, including a pair in the period of the late-1980s and early-1990s during the years of 1985-86 and 1992-93. Offered here, we present this collection of eight (8) Montreal Canadiens game-used and game-issued sticks from the late-1980s and early-1990s that includes numerous examples wielded by players who were a part of those Cup wins in 1986 and/or 1993. Featuring examples from Bob Gainey (Chimo GLM 999 - date stamped Jan 21, 1988 - game-issued), Guy Carboneau (Sher-Wood PMP 7000 - game-used), Chris Nilan (Sher-Wood SOP 7030 - game-used), John Kordic (Chimo GLM 999 - game-used), Brian Skrudland (Sher-Wood PMP 7000 - game-used - minor crack/chip at the underside of the toe), Brian Hayward (Victoriaville Pro - game-used - cracked near the heel), Mike Lalor (Sher-Wood PMP 7000 - game-used) and Andrew Cassels (Sher-Wood PMP 7000 - game-used - underside of the blade is cracked). All featuring player names and in many cases numbers stamped to the upper shaft, all the included sticks retain their original tape job over the handle/knob and blade except for the Gainey stick, which was never taped in the first place, while some of the tape on some of the sticks has been removed at some point in time. All showing excellent game-use via numerous marks and abrasions throughout, all the sticks remain structurally sound unless stated above. Additionally, due to the size and weight of the collection, special shipping arrangements may be required.
