Soon to celebrate a century in the NHL, the Chicago Black Hawks are one of the most storied clubs all-time, with their Indian head uniforms considered one of the most attractive in the NHL. Having won a total of six (6) Stanley Cup championships in their illustrious history and also laying claim to numerous Hockey Hall of Fame inductees, offered here is this Black Hawks pro-style jersey that dates from the era of the mid-to-late-1970s. A heavyweight durene knit offering made by Wilson, a brand label displaying washing instructions and size "48" designation is affixed to the inner collar along with a label from noted Black Hawks equipment supplier Gunzo's. Void of any sor of fight strap on the interior and decorated over the front with Chicago's famed Indian Head team crest that features embroidered details throughout, it should be noted that this is the biggest difference between this one and an actual game jersey as the crests on the legitimate game jerseys all sport crests with details that have been done with chain-stitched embroidery. Sporting matching crossed tomahawk alternate logo crests atop each shoulder that do in fact have the usually seen chain-stitched embroidery details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with the number "16" in dual lay black-over-red tackle twill numerals. Dating from the 1976-77 to the 1978-79 seasons of play and likely an extra jersey that was made up and sold in store by Gunzo's, players that wore the number "16" in the years the jersey dates from include Kirk Bowman (1976-77 and 1977-78) and Mike Walton (1978-79). Displaying no signs of game-wear and remaining in overall excellent condition for its age, the white areas are slightly discoloured and now appear as more of a cream/off-white while both the front and reverse show some spot stains as well.
