Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Three-time Norris Trophy winner Chris Chelios was acquired by Detroit on March 23rd 1999 in a trade with Chicago, and would spend the following nine seasons in Detroit winning the Stanley Cup in 2002 and 2008. This limited-edition Black Hawks/Red Wings jersey has been signed by the iconic blueliner, and it is accompanied by a stick issued to Chelios that has been multi-signed at his Charity Golf Classic (this model was used briefly with Red Wings in 2000-01). The jersey is actually two CCM specimens customized, with half of each jersey sewn together, with Chelios signing beneath the team crests in black marker, adding "7/24". The stick is a Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model with "Chris Chelios 24" factory graphics. Never used, the stick has been signed on one side of the shaft by approx 35 in gold and black marker, including Howe, Hull, Mikita, Gadsby, Pilote, Magnuson, Yzerman and many others. We should also note that there are various marks and abrasions over the shaft of the stick and that some of the signatures have become a bit worn overtime but overall still display well. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
