Drafted 2nd overall by the Washington Capitals in 1978, Ryan Walter would play a total of 1003 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career that was split between three (3) teams including Washington, Montreal and Vancouver. Suiting up for his native Canada on numerous occasions and winning a Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1986 over the Calgary Flames, offered here is this Habs jersey worn by Walter during the late-1980s, circa 1987 to 1989. Made by CCM and void of any labeling affixed to the inner collar, the jersey measures out to roughly a size "50" and has had the CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with the famed "CH" crest of Les Canadiens, the sleeves and verso have had Walter's number "11" sewn to them in dual layer white-over-blue stacked tackle twill numerals. Displaying "Walter" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back, the jersey exhibits good game-wear via stick marks through the team crest and over the lower front, the reverse and both sleeves as well. With additional wear found in the form of board burns over both sleeves and the reverse, team repairs totaling eight (8) by our count are also observed over the sleeves. With a small red coloured board paint transfer found over the reverse, pilling is seen on the interior behind the fight strap, at both elbows and on the reverse with some on the exterior of the jersey as well.
