A veteran of 888 National Hockey League contests after being drafted 8th overall by the Boston Bruins in 1997, Sergei Samsonov would suit up for five (5) other clubs besides the Bruins during his career including Edmonton, Montreal, Chicago, Carolina and Florida before retiring at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season. Often suiting up for his home country Russia in international play which resulted in a bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics, offered here is this photo-matched Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by Samsonov during the 2006 Hockey Hall of Fame Game in Toronto on November 11th, 2006 vs the Toronto Maple Leafs. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, the vector crest of Reebok appears over the reverse neckline while the NHL shield has been added over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with the Canadiens famed "CH" crest that features embroidered details, the Hall of Fame Game event patch has been sewn over the right breast to mark the annual contest. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Samsonov's number "15" in dual-layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, "Samsonov" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Having been worn for just a single contest, the jersey displays virtually no discernible game-wear other than a black stick mark through the "5" on the reverse and remains in beautiful condition. Displaying a MeiGray tag that numbered "D00329" inside the reverse hem, according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Red - HHOF Game 11/11/06" specimen and is accompanied by a matching Canadiens LOA.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #120946552 (November 11, 2006 vs Toronto - HHOF Game) to the black stick mark through the "5" on the reverse.
