Granted entry into the National Hockey League during the first round of expansion in 1967, the Philadelphia Flyers have enjoyed considerable success throughout their history and quickly established themselves into the "Broad Street Bullies" during the decade of the 1970s. Claiming Lord Stanley's coveted mug in back-to-back years of 173-74 and 1974-75, offered here is this Flyers collection featuring items that hail from the personal collections of Orest Kindrachuk and Gary Dornhoefer. Starting with the Kindrachuk collection pieces, first, is a Flyers Alumni team jersey that has been autographed over the front by 20+ members of Philadelphia's 1974 and 1975 Stanley Cup championship squads. An airknit material construction offering made by Athletic Knit, brand tagging displaying a size "XL" designation is affixed to the inner collar while a brand patch is found over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Flyers team crest in layered tackle twill with a styled "Alumni" below in matching style, "1974+1975 Stanley Cup Champions" has been penned around the middle of the team crest in thin black marker ink that displays with bleeding while approx. 23 players that wore the Flyers colours during those years have signed over the crest in thin silver marker that displays well, including the likes of Clarke, Bladon, Nolet, Dupont, Kindrachuk, Lonsberry, Crisp, Schultz, Taylor, Parent, Van Impe, Stephenson, Watson, Dornhoefer, Saleski, Harris, MacLeish, Clement and others. Displaying a serial number of "8/13" in silver ink on the front crest, the jersey remains in excellent condition with some stray silver ink seen over the lower front that is worth mentioning for accuracy. Also from the collection of Kindrachuk, is a Flyers sweatshirt that has been signed by approximately fifteen (15) Philadelphia alumni. Made by Pro Player and remaining in new-with-tags condition with no flaws other than some storage spots along the collar, brand and size "XL" tags are affixed to the inner collar while a Flyers team crest is found over the chest. Having had "Flyers" screened over the front hem in drop shadow letters, the autographs have been penned over the hem in black marker ink with some displaying better than others due to the nature of the material and bunching. Those that have signed the piece include; Kindrachuk, Propp, Barber, Schultz, Zeidel, Dailey, Saleski and a few others that aren't able to be made out.
Moving on to the items hailing from Gary Dornhoefer's collection, included are a pair of figurines gifted by the Flyers to season ticket holders at Christmas in 2004. Measuring roughly 7 1/2" high at its tallest points and depicting Dornhoefer's goal against the Minnesota North Stars on April 10th, 1973 to win the franchise their first ever playoff round, Dornhoefer has signed the base of both figures in silver marker ink with both signatures displaying without issue. Both found in their original packaging and boxes while remaining in excellent condition overall, don't miss out on this group of Flyers goodies!
