A product of the Western Hockey League's Spokane Chiefs and a gold medalist with Team Canada at the 1997 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, Trent Whitfield would be selected 100th overall by the Boston Bruins at the 1996 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play in 194 National Hockey League games over the course of his career with the likes of Washington, New York, St. Louis and Boston. A veteran of over 800 American Hockey League games who was awarded a Stanley Cup ring by the Bruins in 2011, offered here is this Washington Capitals jersey worn by Whitfield during the 2002-03 NHL Pre-Season. Made by Koho and featuring a lone size "58" label affixed to the inner collar, a Koho logo patch has been added over the reverse neckline while the NHL shield has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Capitals team crest that sports both embroidered and textured details throughout, matching alternate logo patches have been added over both shoulders. Styled over the sleeves and verso of the air-knit construction garment with Whitfield's number "23" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Whitefield" has been spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the upper reverse. Exhibiting just very light game-use through a single small blue coloured board paint transfer mark above the "W" in "Whitfield" on the upper reverse, the rest of the jersey remains in excellent condition with no flaws to speak of. Having had a Capitals team tag sewn inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being a "2002-2003 Training Camp" specimen, a MeiGray tag numbered "A04551" has been added opposite it, with the company's population report listing the jersey as a "Black Preseason" offering.
