A product of both Ceske Budejovice HC and Trencin Dukla in his native Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic that was drafted 179th overall by the New Jersey Devils at the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Jaroslav Modry would go on to play a total of 725 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of New Jersey, Ottawa, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas and Philadelphia over the course of thirteen (13) seasons in the league while also representing the Czech Republic internationally on a handful of occasions as well. Offered here, we present this Los Angles Kings "Vintage" series jersey worn by him for a pair of games during the 2003-04 season. Made by CCM and sporting a size "58" label affixed to the inner collar, the air-knit construction garment modelled after the jerseys worn by Los Angeles in the early-to-mid-1980s has had the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem alongside a CCM logo patch that has been sewn on. Decorated over the front with a Kings crown team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety, the NHL's Vintage Series program patch has been added over the right breast. Styled on the sleeves and verso with Modry's number "44" in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Modry" is spelt out in single layer purple twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the reverse. Worn for just a pair of contests (December 2nd, 2003 vs St. Louis and December 16th, 2003 vs Edmonton), the jersey shows just light game-wear via light stick marks through the team crest and over the lower front and a small cut/slash mark over the backside of the left sleeve. Having had a MeiGray tag numbered "B10328" sewn on inside the reverse hem that has had both "1" and "2" handwritten over it in black marker ink, according to their population report, the jersey is a "Gold Vintage Set 1 - Worn 12/2/03 vs. St. Louis, 12/16/03 vs. Edmonton" example. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #2816523 (December 16th, 2003 vs Edmonton) to the small loose purple threads coming off the right side of the second "4" on the reverse.
