Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
An elected member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Ken Danby is known for his realistic studies, and he has served on the governing board of the Canada Council and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada. Arguably his most noteworthy work, we have a framed copy of “At the Crease” from 1972. At approx 19” x 26 ½” (exposed), a generic goaltender is expertly depicted, complete with period Northland stick and fiberglass goal mask. Framed to full dimensions of approximately 32" x 24 1/2", the desirable lithograph has been double matted under grey and maroon with everything contained within a simple and thin chrome metal frame that shows some light wear over the edges and corners that is worth mentioning for accuracy. In overall excellent condition with perhaps some light toning throughout the piece, don't miss out on this one for your esteemed collection.
