Brandon Prust didn’t back down from any opponent on his way up to the NHL and his AHL Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights game-worn jersey testifies to that. Prust spent his first two pro seasons in Omaha after he was selected by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the 2004 NHL Draft. He racked up 294 PIMs in his 2005-06 rookie campaign and followed that up with 211 in the team’s final season in Omaha before it was relocated to Quad Cities. Prust placed a black marker autograph on his fight strap that has faded a bit in portions but remains clearly legible. The MeiGray Group patch is sewn inside the rear tail and “O AK” and Calgary Flames patches are sewn on the shoulders. The Size 56 flag tag that hangs below the Reebok AHL tagging in the back of the neck is sewn over by nameplate stitching. The front of the tie-neck collar testifies to Prust’s combativity with tears that were team repaired on both sides of the black collar and additional sewing fixes to reinforce the upper grommets on both sides. There is an unrepaired hole on the right front shoulder seam, a slice below the “O AK” patch on the left shoulder and an unrepaired hole on the adjacent shoulder seam. There is a board burn and an unrepaired burn hole on the lower left sleeve and the right sleeve has a black mark and three unrepaired holes below the number 33. There is a black mark at the right hip, a board burn with red paint transfer on the left rear tail and Reebok and AHL patches are sewn on the right rear tail.
