Playing a pair of seasons in the NCAA with the University of Wisconsin Badgers, Shaun Sabol would be drafted 206th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a pair of games in the National Hockey League with Philly during the 1989-90 season. Offered here, we present this AHL Binghamton Rangers jersey worn by Sabol during the 1991-92 season, his last year in professional hockey. A mesh construction offering made by CCM and coming from the stock of the NHL's New York Rangers, the team Binghamton was the farm club for, both CCM and partially detached Gerry Cosby labels are affixed to the inner collar, with the jersey itself measuring out to roughly a size "54". Having had both the CCM and NHL shield emblems embroidered into the reverse hem and retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey is decorated over the front with "Rangers" going diagonally down the chest in drop-shadow blue-over-red dual layer tackle twill letters while the sleeves and verso have been styled with Sabol's number "5" in matching style numerals. Having had "Sabol" spelt out in matching style letters that have been sewn on across the affixed arching mesh nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey shows good game-wear via numerous popped seams around the collar, stick marks throughout the front, reverse and both sleeves, team repairs, board burns and coloured board paint transfers over both sleeves and pilling on the interior. Of note, the white areas of the jersey are slightly discoloured from numerous washings.
