Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Short-lived in the AHL with just a pair of seasons in the mid-to-late-1990s, the Carolina Monarchs became the Beast of New Haven in 1997, with the club folding after the 1998-99 AHL season. We have a 1995-96 Monarchs jersey from the team’s inaugural season that was worn by forward Todd Harkins, who played 48 NHL games with Calgary and Hartford during his 11-year pro career. This spectacularly colorful jersey has a size 54 flag tag in the collar and the remnant of a cut flag tag beside it. The AHL patch is sewn on the left tail beside the embroidered CCM logo. Game wear includes several marks throughout the edges of the elaborate and nicely detailed team crest sewn on the front. A secondary team crest patch is sewn on the right shoulder and a triple twill “A” is sewn on the left breast. The left sleeve has black marks high up around the numbers as does the right sleeve, which has a black mark in the “2” along with a few light board burns and an unrepaired slice at the elbow. There are a couple of board burns at the left hip and blac marks on the No. 26 on the back.
