The backbone and key piece in net of Sweden's 1994 Olympics gold medal victory, Tommy Salo is the only Swedish goaltender in history to represent his nation as a three-time Olympian. Salo first backstopped the New York Islanders before parts of six seasons in Edmonton. This photo-matched Oilers third jersey was worn by the two-time NHL All-Star during the 2002-03 NHL season. Elite, "Goalie Style" and sizing labels (58) are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the alternate Oilers team crest that features a textured surface, the navy V-neck jersey has been accented with tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching crests over each shoulder. Great game-use is shown on the garment, with dark marks to the team crest and sleeve bands, with two large team repairs to the right sleeve. Getty Image #52408784 (undated) has been matched to the marks on the team crest, with the two dark marks on the right sleeve to the right of the numbers also matching. A MeiGray tag numbered “A01578” is sewn inside the reverse hem near the team patch, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Third Set 1” specimen, with a matching LOA to accompany.
