Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
The first-round draft choice of the Washington Capitals at 17th overall in 1984, Kevin Hatcher would play 1157 games over his 17-year National Hockey League tenure. Selected to five NHL All-Star Games during his career, Hatcher would be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010. Offered here, is this helmet worn by Hatcher as a member of the New York Rangers during the 1999-2000 season. A Bauer 4000 model in a deep navy colour that would have been worn with the Rangers “Lady Liberty” third jerseys, “Bauer” is seen over the front while Rangers “NYR” decals have been affixed over each side. Additional stickers of the NHL crest and NYR SKATE have been placed over the reverse. On the interior, Hatcher’s number “4” is penned in black marker that displays well while the outside shows good wear through numerous scratches and scuffs, not all necessarily being associated with game-use. Staining/spotting is seen on the interior padding, which remains fully intact, while the strapping harness is still present as well.
