Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Standing alone atop the hockey world by having won the most Stanley Cups in the history of the famous trophy, the Montreal Canadiens have laid claim to the crown a total of 24 times in their storied 114-year lifespan thus far. Sure to pique the interest of any Canadiens enthusiast or autograph collector, offered here we present this lot consisting of a framed Canadiens display featuring pucks single-singed by bothers Maurice and Henri Richard as well as a Canadiens jersey signed by six (6) HOFers including Lafleur, Beliveau and H. Richard. Starting with the framed display, measuring out to full dimensions of approx. 15 1/2" x 22", features an 8" x 10" full colour image of the iconic brothers in their Canadiens uniforms during the late-1950s that is matted under white and black with Canadiens logo pucks single-signed by each HOFer placed underneath alongside each other. Having both been signed in gold ink with both having added inscriptions pertaining to their HOF induction year as well in matching ink, both signatures display well despite a bit of aging being observed. Of note, the gold coloured information plaque placed at the bottom of the display has come unaffixed and will need to be retaped into place. Contained within a black frame that remains in good condition, light wear is seen to the corners and edges that is worth pointing out for accuracy and a COA is affixed to the back of the piece that displays a serial number of 125 out of 250.
For the jersey, a white coloured replica offering made by CCM, a size "L" tag is affixed to the inner collar while the front is decorated with the famed "CH" crest of Les Canadiens. Accented over the reverse hem with an NHL league patch, the jersey remains in good condition but shows light stains over both the front and reverse. Signed within the front crest by the likes of HOFers Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur, Gump Worsley, Henri Richard, Yvan Cournoyer and Serge Savard, all have signed in thin black marker and all the autographs display light from age while still remaining legible.
